I was lucky enough to have my movie shown at the 5Points film festival. (Thanks to Julie Kennedy at 5Points for inviting me!!) I usually don’t get to go to Aspen, so I got to see a lot of my friends who I don’t normally see, like Greg and Brie. I even got to have breakfast with them, which was a real treat. I also had lunch with my friend Tess, and got to see Meredith at 5Points.
Before the film was shown, I was interviewed by a local TV station, Aspen82. They asked me about the film, my recovery, and why I was excited to be in Aspen.
Right after my film was shown, Chris Davenport interviewed me on stage. Speaking on stage doesn’t make me nervous, but some of the questions Dav asked were hard!
Some family friends from Aspen allowed us to stay at their house- which was so generous, because Aspen is really expensive! Here’s one of their Great Danes on my bed. Great Danes are very friendly, which I didn’t expect because they are so large!
I am so thankful that I was invited to Aspen so I could show my movie and speak to a ton of people. And while I was there, I was given a POC helmet by Bob at Ute Mountaineers. I got to see my friend Charlie Gaylord and his fiancee Jamie. Charlie is important to me because he also had a TBI while skiing at Jackson Hole.
All in all, it was such a great trip to Aspen, and I was glad I was invited and got to show my film- what I spoke about on stage (that a helmet saved my life) is really important to me, and I was glad I was able to share that.
